Archbishop Jurkovič has served until now as Holy See Permanent Observer at the United Nations and Specialised Agencies in Geneva and at the World Trade Organisation, and Holy See Representative at the International Organisation for Migration. Archbishop Ivan Jurkovič was born in Kocevje (Slovenia) on 10 June 1952. He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1977. He is hinged in Ljubljana. He has a degree in Canon Law. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on May 1, 1984, and subsequently worked at the Pontifical Representations in Korea, Colombia, Russia and at the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State. He knows Croatian, Italian, Spanish, English, German, French and Russian.

He submitted his resignation to the Holy Father upon reaching the age limit of 75, as stipulated by Canon 401 of the Code of Canon Law.

Fr. John was born in Timmins, Ontario on June 20, 1969 and was ordained to the Catholic priesthood for the Diocese of Timmins (Ontario) on May 4, 1996. Since 1997 he has served as diocesan vocation director and diocesan liturgy director for the English Pastoral Region of his diocese. For close to twenty years he has taught the AQ Courses in Religious Education for Catholic Teachers and is a popular presenter and preacher. He serves as a member of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario and has coordinated a number of provincial symposia for the ongoing formation of priests. He helped found the Diocesan Vocation Directors of Canada (DVDC) and has served as its founding president since 2006. In addition his role as Chair of the Board of Priests For Life Canada, Fr.
